A new Revit addin from Dima over at dp stuff can do that – it looks like this:

The tool is pretty straightforward, so I will try to describe just in a few words how it works (the demo video in the beginning of the post shows it as well).
– assuming you already installed the WorksetExplorer, run the tool from dpStuff Utils in Add-on tab.
– the dialog box will open and in the “tree” your elements will be sorted by workset, then by category, then by family, then by type.
– every “branch” will have a name and the amount of elements on it in parentheses.
– once you see something that shouldn’t be on a particular workset then you can select the branch and click “Select Elements” button – that will add elements that belong to this branch to selection.
– now you can send them to the workset they are supposed to be on.
– repeat until all worksets are in good shape.
You can download the WorksetExplorer add-on from our download page or directly from this link.

Most of you already know that VEO is very smart when it comes to document handling – for example, you can easily attach PDFs to elements in the model.  You may have seen my Revit eStorage post, which allowed you to “store” any file on any element in a Revit model.  Now…

The source code for a Revit add-in project allowing you to “Generate QRcodes within Revit 2013 using native Detail objects (filled regions) and group each instance together” has recently been released.

Can you think of some file handling and document management tricks that could be implemented here?  Links to an FTP site, for example, mapped to QR codes in the RVT model?

  5. Ok, its not a view addin, but – set a keyboard shortcut to Isolate Element, and another one to Zoom Extents.  When you want to find and zoom to a selected element, just type the two shortcuts one after the other … Isolate Element then Zoom Extents.

I think this was previously called DataSlider.  To get it, just close Revit and Vasari and open your Case Add-in Manager (it may want to update itself).  Then tick the Migrate Parameter to Parameter box and Install/Update checked.

    From their website:
    CASE APPS Migrate Parameter
Have you ever needed to schedule an item of data that Revit would not let you? This is a common hurdle for many and now there’s a free tool that you can use to get around this. Common uses include migrating Wall Base Constraint Element Names (Levels) into a schedulable parameter. I’m sure you guys will find lots of uses for this one.

David hinted at this a little while back:
Revit: Can’t schedule wall constraint – part 2

a Revit plug-in that you can assign 5 of your most often used views.
It is super simple in operation. When you run it for a very first time none of the views are set and you have to set those that you want to be able to access by clicking on the “Set/Reset” button

Do you need to clean up your Revit files for transmission?
It is a common task to remove as much from a model as possible prior to sharing it with your consultants for the purpose of linking into their model or sometimes you want to lighten up a model that was sent to you for the same purpose. Delete Sheets, Views. and Revit Links does just what it says. You can select which of the three options you chose using the provided check-boxes.
This tool should only be used on models detached from central as it can be quite destructive.
