Occasionally you may find that the Finish Sketch and Cancel Sketch buttons disappear from the Ribbon.
The easiest way to get out of this situation is to map a Keyboard Shortcut for these commands. You can do this at any point (even after they have disappeared from the Ribbon). Simply open the ‘Keyboard Shortcuts’ dialog, and type ‘Finish Sketch’ in the box.
Then just map a suitable shortcut, like ‘FS’, to the command. As soon as you press OK, you can now use this shortcut to get out of the editing mode.
what is the command line to use in 2011 to enable finish edit mode to be completed by shortcut key? There seems to be too many options on the list…
In the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, I have FS set to Command:Finish Edit Mode (Paths:Contextual Tabs>Mode)
Hi Luke, first of all! GREAT blog you have, keep it up!! 🙂 Second, I have a problem with finish-mass in "In-place mass" in a project. Almost every command with a finish edit mode, finisg etc. is set to FS! But it still doesnt work… You have an idea for this??
Martin
Just tried exporting/importing the KS from 2011 to 2012. It works fine in 2011 with the In-place mass, but not in 2012… :-s /Martin

Have you tried this:
– Set keyboard shortcuts to default
– Type 'finish edit mode' in the filter box
– Set all these to FS
Does this work?
paano isave 2013 dwg sa 2012
Use DWG Trueview / DWG Trueconvert
Thanks a million Luke. Both for reporting the issue publicly and for the workaround. I though I was hallucinating when I could not find the Finish sketch button.
Yup, I just had a similar situation just now. The finish sketch mode button disappeared. Do u know why its happening like that?
Check your installation of DotNet. If you have 4.5 installed, uninstall it and install 4.0
Worked for me.
I tried this but when I search for "finish sketch" in the keyboard shortcuts window it doesn't appear, so I can't even assign a shortcut for the command… what can I do?
Just trying searching for "Finish" or "Finish Edit Mode"
